Symphony Hall is home to Broadway-style theatre, top-quality children’s programming, internationally recognized speakers and numerous concerts and performances. Built in the early 1900s, the historic building underwent an extensive renovation in the fall of 2004. Symphony Hall is also home to the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, The Springfield Public Forum and public and private graduation ceremonies for the Springfield public schools and surrounding communities. Both theatres are truly valuable resources for the Pioneer Valley.
At CityStage, Off-Broadway comedies, dramas and musicals are presented October through April in the intimate, 479-seat Blake Theatre. The 70-seat Winifred Arms Theatre and the Lounge @ CityStage host numerous community events, performances and meetings throughout the year.
CityStage & Symphony Hall is truly an artistic resource which provides cultural, educational, and social benefits to downtown Springfield and the surrounding communities, while serving as an economic catalyst for all of Western Massachusetts.
